Redesigning U.S. Elections w/ Drew Davies | Growing A Fruitful Brand Podcast | Episode 52
It’s often said that no one notices good design. They only notice when it’s bad.
During the 2000 presidential election fiasco in Palm Beach county Florida, the entire world was mesmerized by bad design. Bad ballot design that is.
It was in this mess of bad design that young Omaha designer Drew Davies thought he would swing in and save his country with the power of good design. Of course, it wasn’t as easy as he thought it would be (it never is).
But, despite the many challenges, Drew has worked hard with the U.S. Election Assistance Commission to create better ballot guidelines for U.S. counties, resulting in more honest and accurate elections.
Drew has also worked on many other civic-minded design projects over the years. Things like:
The Imaginarium branding
The new Nebraska license-plates
An upcoming coffee-table book on the art and history of the Nebraska State Capitol
