Building awareness: Period poverty is an unseen issue affecting more than 22 million people. Because talking about menstruation is often stigmatized or considered a “women’s-only issue”, awareness is minimal, making it difficult to find ways to connect with those in need.

Access Period is a nonprofit organization bringing awareness to period poverty and connecting those who want to help with the people who need it.
The communication strategy started by creating a messaging framework using the StoryBrand BrandScript. Through the BrandScript exercise, Fruitful helped Access Period identify its target audience and the problem they face; people who want to help those suffering from period poverty.
As the guide, Access Period was able to use the framework to paint the picture of success and failure, while crafting messaging that established itself as the authority on how to help those suffering from period poverty.
Great Design Reinforces the Message.
Visual messaging can make or break a brand’s mission. For a topic like menstruation, the visual branding needed to be welcoming, inclusive, and inspirational. The design elements; logo, and illustrations, colors, and fonts needed to be recognizable and synonymous with menstrual products while standing out. The illustrations our team created focus on community; the idea that by supporting those in need, you are giving them their life back.
